[finnix] finnix kernel mods - #7 howto not working

Cant seem to get new kernel loaded ...
Ok I've got the latest finnix 91.0 and am trying to add kernel mods. I'd
like finnix to have sound,
it would be a cool project to play movies mp3's all from console.  And need
to get other things
like modded wireless drivers, truecrypt etc.

Following the re mastering guide on the site:
#7  mount -t squashfs -o loop /cdrom/isolinux/minirt /mnt/initrd
SQUASHFS error: Can't find a SQUASHFS superblock on loop1,
    missing codepage or helper program, or other error

Any ideas?  Also why move to this list instead of the forums?  Does the usb
boot finnix
script still work with 91.0 ?  Thanks
