[finnix] How do I tell Finnix not to mount anything from my harddrive? (newbie question)

I want to mount everything myself using the mount command. I am not new
to Linux, but I have never used a LiveCD before.
I couldn't find a clear answer in the FAQ or cheatcodes or anywhere
else. I'm afraid of making a dangerous experiment.
Do I need to manually specify the path to the CD if I disable automatic
mounting? If so, should I use the "root=" option? Is this the "obsolete
root change mechanism" in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/initrd.txt? Will
my PATA harddrive show up as /dev/hda or are you mapping them to SCSI?
Will the ("boot:") command line below work? Is the syntax correct? Will
it load the CD (from the SATA CDROM) and nothing else? Do I need
something else? Do I need to use userdef instead and if so, do I need to
add anything else besides initrd=minirt?
debug toram testcd noswap nofstab nodhcp nolvm noraid nocrypt nomouse
tz=EEST hpet=disable acpi_use_timer_override root=/dev/sda
Also, where can I find the kernel config and any Finnix-specific boot
scripts?
Thank you,
Dan Fulger
