Good day,I am new to the mailing list, i have checked the forums, the
blog, and have searched for any similar postings before i resort to
desperation and send this email. I have tried 90 as well as 91.1 with a
variety of brands of flashdrives (PNY, Cruzer, Lexar) and a variety of
sizes (256 mb, 512mb, 1 gig, 2 gig, 4 gig) , and atm, with the latest
version of finnix (91.1) it says in the features snippet that
finnix-thumbdrive now works... So the day after it came out, I rushed to
download it, and boot it. When i was using a new 4 gig cruzer (u3)
enabled flashdrive bought for the purpose, i used man finnix-thumbdrive,
and used the -l option for large drives as it told me to.. It formats
the flashdrive (/dev/sdb1 , and therefore mounted as /mnt/sdb1
respectively, and then it starts loading dots saying that it is "waiting
for the partition table to become active" those dots go on for hours...
have tried on no less than 6 different machines, intel and amd based..
the dots continue... other flags (such as not using the -l switch, or
using the -p switch after signalling an EOF (ctrl d) immediately after
the formatting is done to perhaps bypass the bug.. have also tried
taking the flashdrive out and putting it back in in the hopes that such
an act would also "make the partition table active" .. any ideas? or
have i failed to try something? or is the script inoperable currenttly?
Is there anyone with whom the script has proved successful?
