From tauerbach at adfsolutions.com Wed Nov 19 09:09:10 2008 From: tauerbach at adfsolutions.com (Todd Auerbach) Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 12:09:10 -0500 Subject: [finnix] Help with "Waiting for devices to settle...Still cannot find Linux media you're on your own" message Message-ID: <88AF09D10F775242825F9829423376AB07D67B473D@VMBX103.ihostexchange.net> The Finnix boot CD (one we've customized a bit) starts booting, then gives the "Waiting for devices to settle" message. It tries 5 times before giving a message saying " Still cannot find Linux media you're on your own " Then it says "Giving you a shell, hopefully you can mount the media to /ramdisk/cdrom. If you can, exit the shell and startup will proceed as normal. Starting intermediate shell as requested by "debu" option. Type "exit" to continue with normal bootup. /bin/ash: "Can't access tty; job control turned off" The PCs in question are either HP DC7700s or DC7800. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can re-mount the CD-ROM drive and continue on with the boot process? I have limited knowledge of Linux so appreciate any help that anyone can provide.
