Need help as an Intermediate Linux-liveCD person trying to use finnix-92.0
Am trying to set up loading finnix via an isolinux/syslinux v3.71
menu.c32-layout instead of the provided menu.c32 / vesamenu.c32 combo.
e.g., an upper-level *.cfg menu.c32 -conforming file containing
LABEL finnix
MENU LABEL Finnix v92.0
CONFIG=/finnix/isolinux.cfg
I have a working Damn Small Linux entry (DSL uses KNOPPIX) and have
already seen your 'What is squashfs?' and 'What are the differences
between Finnix and Knoppix?' FAQs.
Since finnix uses squashfs for FINNIX, how would I edit my
/finnix/isolinux.cfg file ??
The isolinux.cfg already has some of the replacements for menu.c32
--- begin code ---
DEFAULT /finnix/linux
APPEND apm=power-off vga=791 initrd=/finnix/minirt quiet
TIMEOUT 300
PROMPT 1
DISPLAY /finnix/f1
F1 /finnix/f1
LABEL finnix
MENU LABEL Boot Finnix (x86)
KERNEL /finnix/linux
APPEND apm=power-off vga=791 initrd=/finnix/minirt quiet
...
...
--- end code ---
Already made edits to the other entries here and in the /finnix/f1
file to make these menu.c32 -compliant.... hmmmm, already wrote this
above the isolinux.cfg listing :frown:
Anyway, the FINNIX squashfs'd filesystem is also in /finnix as are the
'linux' kernel and the 'minirt' initrd
I'd guess that the above isolinux.cfg APPEND lines would be appended
;) with 'root=/dev/ram0 init=linuxrc ramdisk_size=200000
squashfs=/finnix/FINNIX', but am not exactly sure.
What else must be edited and added?
Maybe someone can post something somewhere on this??
Thanks in advance for good recommendations here.
